How it works
- Assessment. We take your history, listen to your chest, and check your breathing, oxygen levels and fitness.
- A plan with you. We agree goals together and start treatment on the day.
- Follow-ups. 30-minute visits to progress your program. On a GP care plan, we write to your GP.

Your initial assessment
We take time to understand your condition, symptoms, medical history and goals. Depending on your needs, the assessment may include:
- Listening to your chest and assessing your breathing pattern.
- Oxygen saturation and heart rate at rest and during activity.
- Exercise testing, such as a walk test, to measure your fitness and set safe exercise levels.
- Assessment of cough and sputum clearance.
- Checking inhaler and device technique.
Treatment
From there we build a plan with you. It might include hands-on techniques, airway clearance, breathing retraining, exercise, education and a home program, as well as a referral into our pulmonary rehabilitation classes.
Keeping your doctors informed
If you are referred under a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan, we write to your GP after your first visit and at the end of your plan.
