Who we see here
The same work we do at Hazelwood Park, in a room closer to home. Yuka trained as a respiratory therapist before becoming a physiotherapist, so chest assessment and airway clearance are her core skills rather than a sideline.
- Chronic lung conditions — COPD, emphysema, chronic bronchitis, bronchiectasis, pulmonary fibrosis and asthma.
- Sputum you can’t shift — airway clearance technique, and fitting an oscillating PEP device if one would help.
- Recovery — after pneumonia, a hospital stay, lung surgery or long COVID.
- Breathlessness — shortness of breath assessment, breathing retraining and a home exercise plan.

What an appointment involves
Initial appointments are 40 minutes and standard appointments 30, the same as at Hazelwood Park. Yuka will take a history, listen to your chest, check your oxygen levels and breathing pattern, and look at what you can do before breathlessness stops you. You’ll leave with a plan you can start that day — and, with your permission, we write to your GP so everyone is working from the same page. Our first visit page walks through it in detail.
Finding us on the day
Core Physio is at 188 Main South Road, Morphett Vale. Look for Core Physio’s signage at the front — there is no separate Respiratory PhysiO2 sign — and let their reception know you’re here to see Yuka from Respiratory PhysiO2. She’ll come and collect you. Arrive about 10 minutes early for your first visit so there’s time for your new patient form, which you can also fill in on your computer beforehand.
If you use oxygen, bring it. If you have recent letters, spirometry or CT reports from a GP or specialist, bring those too — they save us guessing.
Suburbs we see patients from
Main South Road makes the rooms easy to reach from Morphett Vale, Woodcroft, Hackham, Reynella, Christies Beach, Noarlunga, Seaford, Aldinga, Hallett Cove and the surrounding southern suburbs. If travel is genuinely difficult, ask us about home visits instead.
Fees and funding
Identical to Hazelwood Park: private fees, private health extras claimed on the spot with HICAPS, Medicare GPCCMP if your GP has referred you, DVA with a current referral, and NDIS for self-managed and plan-managed participants. Current amounts are on our fees page.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a referral to be seen at Morphett Vale?
No. Anyone can book directly. A GP referral is only needed if you want to claim a Medicare rebate through a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (GPCCMP), or if you are a DVA client.
Which days is the clinic open?
Every second Friday. The online booking calendar only shows the Fridays Yuka is actually there, so anything you can select is a real appointment. If you need a date sooner, call us on (08) 8364 3706 and we will look at both locations.
Is this a Core Physio service?
No. We rent a treatment room inside Core Physio at 188 Main South Road. Your appointment, your notes and your account are with Respiratory PhysiO2, and reception for all of it is handled from our Hazelwood Park clinic.
Are the fees the same as Hazelwood Park?
Yes. Initial and standard appointment fees, GPCCMP amounts, DVA and NDIS arrangements are identical at both locations. See our fees page for current amounts.
What if I need pulmonary rehab classes?
Classes run at our Hazelwood Park clinic only, because they need the exercise room. At Morphett Vale we can assess you, set up a home exercise program and review it, which suits many people who cannot travel across town weekly.
Can I buy an airway clearance device at Morphett Vale?
Yes, subject to stock. Tell us when you book which device you are interested in and Yuka will bring one to fit and teach you on the day, or we can post it to you.
